Indexable Mills & Milling Cutters

Indexable mills and milling cutters are toolholders that use indexable inserts to create a cutting edge that removes material in milling operations. They require fewer tool changes than solid tools in high-volume metalworking and fabrication applications with high speeds, high feeds, and difficult-to-machine materials. The inserts can be rotated (indexed) to reveal a fresh cutting edge or replaced with new inserts of the same or different types without removing the toolholder from the machine. Indexable face mills flatten and finish workpiece surfaces. Indexable milling cutters make specific cuts such as slits or chamfers. Indexable profiling end mills make contoured or round-shouldered cuts. Indexable spot- and center-drill mills cut and finish holes. Indexable square-shoulder end mills make 90° cuts in shoulder milling operations.
