Indexable & Exchangeable-Head Milling
Available7,207 products
These milling tools have a tool body or toolholder that accepts replaceable cutting heads or indexable inserts to form a cutting edge. They rotate against workpieces to shape them and create features such as slots and bevels. The heads and inserts can be swapped out for new ones of the same type or different types without removing the tool body or toolholder from the machine. Exchangeable-head milling tools have a detachable cutting head. Indexable milling inserts have multiple cutting edges and can be rotated (indexed) to expose a fresh cutting edge when the old one dulls. These milling tools are used for face milling, shoulder milling, profiling, chamfering, and slotting. They require fewer tool changes than solid tools in high-volume metalworking and fabrication applications with high speeds, high feeds, and difficult-to-machine materials.
