Indexable Face Mills
Available1,249 products
Indexable face mills flatten and finish workpiece surfaces in face milling applications. They consist of a toolholder that holds replaceable, multi-edged cutting inserts that can be rotated (indexed) to expose a fresh cutting edge when the old one dulls. The inserts can be replaced with a new ones of the same type or different types without removing the toolholder from the machine. Face mills are differentiated by their entry angle, which is the measurement between the workpiece surface and the insert cutting edge. The entry angle determines the depth of cut, the feed speed, and whether the face mill is suited for general purpose or specialized milling. Indexable milling tools require fewer tool changes than solid tools in high-volume metalworking and fabrication applications with high speeds, high feeds, and difficult-to-machine materials.
