Narrow band saw blades are up to 1/2" wide and are flexible for making curved cuts on vertical band saws. Narrower blades cut tighter curves than wider blades. Metal-cutting band saw blades are welded to form a continuous loop and have a single cutting edge that cuts as the blade rotates down through the workpiece. Blade material, tooth, and geometry are optimized to cut specific materials.
