Standard band saw blades for cutting metal are 5/8" to 1" wide and are designed for occasional use, such as maintenance tasks and short-run production. Metal-cutting band saw blades are welded to form a continuous loop and have a single cutting edge that cuts as the blade rotates down through the workpiece. Blade material and tooth geometry are optimized to cut specific materials.
