Trailer strip doors allow workers and forklifts to pass through the door without pulling the curtain back. Strips overlap to increase energy efficiency. Strip doors are less energy efficient than curtains.

Trailer curtains install in front of the door to limit heat transfer through the door, limit noise, and keep out bugs and debris. Curtains install on an overhead rod so they can be pulled aside to move cargo. Hook-and-loop closures secure the curtains to the side walls to create a seal and prevent curtains from opening during transport. Curtains are more energy efficient than strip doors.
