Round (R) Indexable Milling Inserts
Available408 products
Round (R) milling inserts have a circular shape with a continuous cutting edge. They have the strongest cutting edge of all the insert shapes for applications requiring high feed rates and high cutting force, but are more prone to vibration than other shapes. Round inserts are suitable for plunge milling, circular ramping, and rough milling. These indexable inserts mount to a compatible toolholder, which attaches to a milling machine. They can be rotated (indexed) to expose a fresh section of the cutting edge when the old section dulls. They can be replaced with new inserts of the same type or different types without removing the toolholder from the machine. Indexable milling tools require fewer tool changes than solid tools in high-volume metalworking and fabrication applications with high speeds, high feeds, and difficult-to-machine materials.
