Properties

The specific properties of the lubricant.

Dielectric insulates sensitive electrical components against conductivity to protect against galvanic corrosion.
Extended Life also referred to as EL, performs twice as long than standard lubricants for high-demand applications where there's a need to extend the time between lubricant changes.
Extreme Pressure also referred to as EP, maintains a lubricating layer between surfaces in highly pressurized conditions where standard lubricants degrade and squeeze out.
High Temperature maintains lubricating performance and will not drip or degrade when exposed to high heat.
Low Temperature maintains lubricating performance under freezing conditions as well as contact with ice, road salt, and humidity.
Rust and Oxidation Resistant prevents rust, oxidation, and deposit formation to protect internal machine components and extend their operating life.
Water Resistant inhibits corrosion and rust while maintaining lubricating performance in conditions with prolonged exposure to water.

Base Oil

Mineral is a standard base oil that is naturally-occurring.
Semi-Synthetic is a mixture of mineral oil and chemically-engineered oil that offers higher heat resistance than mineral oil alone.
Silicone is a manufactured oil that repels moisture and is suitable for sensitive surfaces such as electronics.
Synthetic is a chemically-engineered oil with more uniformity and a higher resistance to heat than other base oils.

Aluminum Complex is a complex soap with higher resistance to heat, water washout, and oxidation than aluminum simple soap.
Calcium Sulfonate is a nonsoap thickener for extreme pressure (EP) applications with resistance to wear, water, and high temperatures.
Lithium is a simple soap that withstands mechanical shearing and has good resistance to water, heat, and oil separation.
Lithium Complex is a complex soap with higher dropping points than simple soap for high-temperature applications.
PTFE is a nonsoap thickener that has good lubricity and resists heat, water, and mechanical shearing.
Silica is a nonsoap thickener that resists heat and has a small particle size for an efficient thickener.

Pour Point

The pour point is the lowest temperature at which the lubricant can still flow with gravity, and indicates a lubricant's resistance to cold temperatures. Based on the ASTM D97-96a test method, the pour point is 5°F above the temperature at which the lubricant shows no movement when held upside down for 5 seconds.
