Heat-Set Inserts
Available114 products
Heat-set threaded inserts, also known as ultrasonic inserts, install into plastics and other thermally deformable materials using heat to secure themselves in place. They can be installed using an ultrasonic insert tool, soldering iron, or a similar heat-generating tool. As they are installed, the heat melts the mounting surface around the insert and then cools and solidifies, locking the insert in place.
Straight Heat-Set Inserts
Straight heat-set inserts install into mounting surfaces and create a female-threaded hole. Their straight walls are thinner than regular insert walls allowing them to fit into tighter mounting locations. They are designed to sit flush with the mounting surface for snag-free applications.

Tapered Heat-Set Inserts
Tapered heat-set inserts install into mounting surfaces and create female-threaded holes. They feature two sets of gripping teeth or vanes spaced along their length to increase their holding power. Their tapered profile allows for faster installation during high-volume production.

Heat-Set Insert Installation Tools
These installation tools attach to a soldering iron and hold the insert in place for installation. The soldering iron heats the installation tool and insert, preparing them for installation. They come in several variations to fit different brands and sizes of soldering iron.
