Welding tables hold workpieces for metal fabrication and repair. They're made of nonflammable materials, such as steel, that withstand exposure to welding flame. Welding tables are at or below waist height to make it easier and more comfortable to perform high-precision welds. They often have clamps or other means to hold the workpiece in place. Modular tables have holes in the surface that accept clamps and other fixtures to speed set up. Portable tables can be carried to a worksite or around a shop. Mobile tables have locking wheels that allow the table to be rolled. They are generally more stable than portable tables. Stationary tables are intended to be installed in fabrication shops that have permanent set ups.
