Socket weld spacer rings fit in a socket joint to provide the minimum gap required by American National Standards Institute (ANSI), US Navy and Military codes, and American Society Of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). They eliminate the need to take measurements and mark pipe manually. Spacer rings are placed in the socket, then the pipe is tack welded and squared to ensure a uniform gap before finishing the weld.
