Plasma Torch Electrodes
Plasma torch electrodes conduct current to create and maintain an arc for plasma cutting tasks. The energy flowing through the electrode also ionizes the gas in the torch nozzle to create the plasma stream. Electrodes are compatible with specific brands and series of plasma torches. A pit forms at the end of the electrodes as they are consumed over time. Electrodes should be replaced when the pit reaches the maximum depth suggested by the manufacturer. Typically, electrodes and nozzles are replaced at the same time to maintain the optimal performance of the plasma torch. A complete plasma torch assembly includes a swirl ring, nozzle, retaining cap, shield cap, and electrode.
