These rods provide filler material for gas welding, which uses an oxygen and fuel gas mixture to create a high-heat flame at the tip of a gas welding torch. The heat from the flame melts and fuses material from a workpiece and a gas welding rod to create a weld on the workpiece. Gas welding doesn't require electricity, unlike arc welding.
R45 Carbon Steel Gas Welding Rods
R45 gas welding rods create ductile, machinable welds. They are used for welding low carbon steel sheets, plates, pipe, castings, and structural shapes that are up to 0.25" thick. Flux is not required when welding with these rods.

R60 Carbon Steel Gas Welding Rods
R60 gas welding rods create welds with a higher tensile strength than deposits made with R45 gas welding rods. They are used for welding low-carbon and low-alloy steel sheets, plates, pipes, and structural shapes. Flux is not required when welding with these rods.
