Welding lugs install on solid or stranded welding cable to secure the cable to the stud connector on a welding power source. The cable inserts into the open end of the lug. The lug tightens to the cable.

These welding cable lugs crimp or solder to the end of the welding cable. The lug slides over the cable and then placed in a crimper or soldered to create a strong connection.
