Battery-powered welders are portable for taking to remote locations where access to a mains power supply is limited or not available. They can also be powered by connecting to a mains power source. The battery improves output power when connecting to a 120V AC mains to improve weld quality that could be affected by power fluctuations. Battery-powered welders are smaller, lighter, and easier to move around a worksite than welder generators.
