Specialty Automotive Sockets
Available149 products
Specialty automotive sockets are for tightening and loosening nonstandard bolts and other fasteners. They are designed for use in automotive applications compared to all-purpose sockets that are suitable for a variety of fasteners. Sockets fit around and grip the entire head of the fastener so the socket won't slip off. They require the use of hand drive tools such as a ratchet or a breaker bar to turn the socket and rotate the fastener. Drive tools have a square nub called the drive that fits into the same size drive end of the socket for secure attachment to the hand drive tool.

Metric Budd Wheel Sockets
These metric Budd wheel sockets can loosen and tighten wheel nuts with a ball seat and where the wheel has beveled bolt holes, typically found on buses and large trucks having a set of dual wheels on the rear axle. The inner wheel on a set of dual wheels is held on by a stud that has a square drive that goes over the stud on the hub. The outer wheel is held to the inner wheel by a conventional lug nut that goes on the stud that holds the inner wheel to the hub. Sockets come in sizes that are measured in millimeters to fit fasteners with a metric size head.
