Drum sanding machines rotate a sandpaper-wrapped drum to abrade wood boards and strips, leveling them to a uniform thickness and smoothing out rough spots. They remove thin layers of material in multiple passes to perform thickness planing and finish sanding rather than heavy stock removal. Their board capacity makes them well suited for smaller workpieces that don't require the extra capacity of a wide belt sander.
