Router tables provide a large, dedicated work surface to mount handheld routers and support workpieces. They connect handheld routers to the underside of the table, turning them into stationary routers and leaving both hands free to guide workpieces along the cutting bit. Their fence, faceplates, and featherboards guide cuts to produce perfectly straight edges and are removable to cut freehand or with templates. The table provides ample space for long strips of trim and other oversized workpieces that would be difficult to manage without a table. Router tables are commonly used with full-size routers in production environments.
