Mortising Machines

Available2 products

Mortising machines create straight-sided, square-cornered recesses, slots, or holes (mortises) in wood workpieces. They use chisel-and-auger mortising bits that plunge into material and make a series of cuts to form the mortise. Mortising machines are commonly used for joinery tasks in furniture and cabinetry making operations.

Mortising Machines

Mortising Machines
Mortising machines make a series of plunge cuts to form shallow recesses for hinges or deep slots and through holes for tenon joints. Their head mounts vertically and descends on a column to lower the cutting bit into the workpiece. The adjustable depth stop controls how far the bit travels to ensure that mortises are cut to uniform depth. These machines accept mortising bits with a shank size matching the chuck size.
