Combination Vertical/Horizontal Metal-Cutting Band Saws
Available9 products
Combination vertical and horizontal metal-cutting band saws have a pivoting head that allows the saw to be used vertically or horizontally. This allows shops to have the functionality of both tools while only taking up the floor space of one tool. Vertical band saws are manually operated. They have a table that supports the workpiece as the operator pushes it past the blade. Horizontal band saws have a table that supports the workpiece and a head that is lowered onto the workpiece to make the cut, making them a good choice for large workpieces or cuts that take a long time.
Manual Combination Vertical/Horizontal Band Saws
Manual combination vertical and horizontal band saws are manually operated in both the vertical and horizontal position. When the saw is in the vertical position, the workpiece rests on a table while the operator pushes the material through the blade. When the saw is in the horizontal position, the workpiece is clamped to a table and the saw head is lowered to make the cut. Manually operated saws are used in low-volume machine and maintenance shops when similar materials and cuts are made.

Semi-Automatic Combination Vertical/Horizontal Band Saws
Semi-automatic combination vertical and horizontal band saws are manually operated in the vertical position and semi-automatic in the horizontal position. Manually operated band saws have a table that supports the workpiece while the operator pushes it through the blade. Semi-automatic horizontal band saws have a table the operator manually clamps the workpiece to. The saw is programmed to lower the cutting head to complete the cut. Semi-automatic saws lower operator fatigue on medium and large production runs when repeated cuts are made.
