PEX expansion heads attach to compatible expander tools and stretch the ends of cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) type A tubing to accept cold-expansion fittings. The tubing shrinks back to size to form a seal and hold the fitting in place. These expander heads slide into tubing, spread open, and rotate to widen the tubing for the fitting. Their rotation is eased by expansion grease, which lubricates the expander cone that holds the expansion head.

These PEX expansion heads fit specific series of Milwaukee PEX expanders. Also known as PEX expander heads, they are sized for specific PEX tubing sizes and are marked or color-coded by size to get a proper match with tubing.
