Power torque wrenches (sometimes called nutrunners) apply a predetermined amount of torque to fasteners in applications where overtightening can damage parts. They're commonly used in assembly, manufacturing, and oil and gas applications. Users set the desired torque and the tool automatically stops tightening when the desired torque is reached to prevent overtightening.
