Walk-Behind & Remote Control Floor Grinders

Available21 products

Walk-behind and remote control floor grinders rotate large discs loaded with interchangeable abrasive tools (segments) or pads that grind and polish concrete, natural stone, and terrazzo floors. They accept a variety of abrasives for different degrees of material removal, from stripping off coatings to generating a high-sheen finish. Their wide head grinds more surface area than handheld concrete and masonry grinders. A dust skirt on the grinder head forms a barrier that keeps silica dust contained so it can be sucked into a compatible extractor or collector. The grinder's vacuum port connects to the extractor or collector that captures the dust to reduce respiratory hazards from airborne dust and prevent accumulation on floors, surfaces, and tools.

Walk-Behind Single-Disc Floor Grinders

Walk-Behind Single-Disc Floor Grinders
Single-disc floor grinders hold abrasives on one disc to grind and polish smaller surface areas and access tighter spaces than planetary machines. These walk-behind grinders set their handle at a comfortable height for pushing the machine along floors.

Walk-Behind Planetary Floor Grinders

Walk-Behind Planetary Floor Grinders
Planetary floor grinders hold abrasives on three discs to grind and polish larger surface areas than single-disc machines. They rotate the three discs in one direction while rotating the planetary head (the larger plate they mount to) in the opposite direction to make deep cuts through the middle of the grinding width and shallow cuts on the edges. These walk-behind grinders set their handle at a comfortable height for pushing the machine along floors.

Walk-Behind Planetary Dual-Drive Floor Grinders

Walk-Behind Planetary Dual-Drive Floor Grinders

Planetary floor grinders hold abrasives on three discs to grind and polish larger surface areas than single-disc machines. Their dual drive rotates the three discs in one direction while rotating the planetary head (the larger plate they mount to) in either the opposite or the same direction. Opposite-direction rotation eases handling and makes deeper cuts through the middle of the grinding width and shallower cuts on the edges. Same-direction rotation is more aggressive to increase productivity and produce a more uniform grind across the grinding width. These walk-behind grinders set their handle at a comfortable height for pushing the machine along floors.
