Round files abrade material from holes, circular openings, and concave surfaces. Also known as rat-tail files (especially for smaller sizes), they smooth or enlarge holes, shave bevels on curved edges, round off circular workpieces, and cut or finish keyholes.
Double-Cut Round Files
Double-cut teeth on these round files aggressively abrade material. Their two crisscrossing sets of diagonal rows of teeth slant in opposite directions to remove material more quickly and leave a rougher finish than single-cut teeth.
