Long-reach dial thermometers thread directly onto pipe or tank connections and measure and monitor temperatures. The stem on these thermometers is longer than standard to extend reach. They have a stainless-steel housing with an airtight hermetic seal on the dial face that prevents icing or fogging. With their external adjustment screw, they can be easily calibrated. They are commonly used to take temperature readings in large tanks where a longer reach is required.
