Standard LED stroboscopes use light-emitting diodes (LED) to create short light pulses at specific frequencies. They can be adjusted to illuminate many rotational speeds and have extended lifespans due to their LED technology.

Internal phase-shifting stroboscopes feature a special offset mode that shifts the strobe pattern and makes the rotational part appear to shift its position. This allows users to adjust where the part is visible, view different areas behind the part, and inspect it through its entire range of rotation.
