Test Leads & Test Probes
Test leads are insulated wires with coatings and molded plugs that connect to compatible multimeters and clamp meters. They pair with clips, test probes, banana plugs, and other conductor tips to contact testing points and relay electrical signals to monitor applications and perform diagnostics. They're also used to create a modular system to extend reach and measuring capabilities. Color-coded test clips have spring-loaded jaws that attach to test points and free up the operator’s hands in applications where space is limited, such as automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting. Test probes have a fine, needle-type tip that makes precise contact with testing points or can be used to pierce the insulation of wires for greater accuracy. Test lead kits contain an assortment of leads, clips, and probes that pair with compatible multimeters and clamp meters. Test lead connectors like banana plugs, jacks, and hook clips attach to test leads or designated testing points on equipment. Insulated test lead wires come in large spools without plugs or tips and can be cut to desired length. Clamp-on and flexible current probes extend the meter’s reach and fit into cramped areas where standard probes are not an option.
