Asphalt compression machines load test the stability of asphalt samples. The samples are prepared, all composed of varying mixes of aggregates and binders. Once these samples are baked and compacted, the machine compresses each sample, determining the maximum load each blend can withstand. A dial gauge notes the plastic flow of each specimen in 0.01 inch increments.
