Interchangeable core cabinet and drawer latchbolt locks can be rekeyed without removing the whole lock to save time and costs. A control key removes and replaces the interchangeable core (IC) while keeping the lock body in place. Interchangeable core locks take LFIC or SFIC standard cores and are compatible across brands. Latchbolts are retracted by key to unlock. The key may be withdrawn in locked position to ensure the cabinet or drawer is secure, preventing theft and unauthorized use of the contents.
