Healthcare and pharmaceutical PAPRs (powered air-purifying respirator) are lightweight to make them comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. They often provide a wide field of view to make it easier to move about and communicate with patients and co-workers. PAPR systems have a belt-mounted blower that pushes ambient air through a filter to provide safe breathable air to the facepiece.
