Walkers, Rollators & Crutches

Walkers, rollators, and crutches keep people standing upright while providing support to assist with walking. They are commonly used to aid mobility for older persons and those recovering from injuries or surgeries.
Walkers
Walkers provide a support frame that people lift out in front of them then lean on as they take each step to walk. They make four points of contact with the ground for a more stable base than crutches or canes. Their side handles allow a firm grip to maintain balance and move the walker.

Rollators
Rollators push along on wheels for smoother movement than the flat tips of walkers. Also known as rolling walkers, they have handles for pushing and handbrakes to stop their wheels. Their built-in seat provides a place to rest when taking a break from walking. Rollators are commonly used by people without balance issues when the full support of a walker isn't necessary.

Crutches
Crutches allow people to move forward without putting weight on an injured or weakened leg. They are used in pairs, setting their tip on the ground and their armpad under each arm. Their hand grip and lower leg adjust within a range to suit the height of the use.
