Endotracheal tubes insert into the trachea to maintain the passage to the lungs for providing respiratory support during breathing emergencies. Also known as ET tubes, these flexible tubes open and support the airway to allow oxygenation, ventilation, and delivery of inhaled medications. They are disposed of after a single use.
