Wear-resistant nylon rods are made with a strong and stiff engineering-grade plastic with bearing and wear properties. Lubricant-filled nylons are made with a lubricant that creates a slippery face that helps reduces friction. Heat-stabilized nylon rods withstand high operating temperatures. Glass-filled nylon enhances the rod’s overall durability. FDA compliant grades of nylon are available for applications requiring contact with food. Nylon rods are lightweight, produce less operating noise, and decrease wear on parts, so they are commonly used to replace metal bearings and bushings.

General Purpose Cast Nylon Rods
Nylon 6 rods are durable, machinable, and have higher heat deflection, better solvent resistance, and better hydroscopic characteristics than extruded nylon 6/6 rods. Also known as cast nylon, they offer better stability than standard-grade nylon rods.

Enhanced Temperature Cast Nylon Rods
These rods have a heat stabilizer that prevents the loss of physical properties as temperatures increase, allowing them to function at 10% higher temperatures than standard-grade rods. These lightweight rods also offer excellent abrasion and wear resistance. They are commonly used for die cutters and other high-precision parts.
