Tool Steel Rods & Discs
Tool steel is a carbon alloy that resists abrasion and wear and is especially hard. Tool steel rods and discs are ground to tight tolerances and maintain their shape and cutting edge at elevated temperatures. They are sometimes tempered to improve machinability and are available in different material grades for specific applications. Typical uses include cutting tools, hand tools, and injection molds.
Dimensionally-Stable A2 Tool Steel Rods & Discs
Grade A2 (air hardened) tool steel rods and discs are easy to cut and shape with machine tools. They resist wear and maintain their shape and stability under heat treatment and compression after tempering and hardening. With no surface imperfections or decarburization, they are often manufactured into cold-forming tools, dies, punches, blades, and hammers.
