Carbon Steel
Carbon steel is a commonly used metal for general manufacturing, industrial, and construction applications with limited exposure to corrosive elements. Carbon steel sheets and plates accept brazing, welding, and machining for fabricating metal parts and other items. Carbon steel bars, rods, and discs are used to fabricate shafts, bushings, and bolts. Carbon steel angles and channels are uniquely shaped and often used as support frames, braces, and corners. Carbon steel tubes are often used in structural and architectural applications. Carbon steel grating and stair treads provide traction for walkways and flooring and have openings that allow light and air to pass through. Carbon steel wire withstands tension for use as springs, jewelry, and piano and guitar strings. Carbon steel ball stock can serve as ball bearings in casters, slides, and conveyors.
