Carbon Steel Rods & Discs
Available5 products
Carbon steel rods and discs come in different material grades with distinct levels of strength, wear and stress resistance properties, and elements that improve their hardness, durability, and machinability. Rods have round cross sections and are 6" or greater in length, while discs are less than 6" long.

Highly Machinable 12L14 Carbon Steel Rods
Grade 12L14 carbon steel rods and discs contain lead, which makes them easy to machine and form to close tolerances. This low-friction metal is often used for applications requiring bending, crimping, or riveting. Additional applications include couplings, bushings, or use in automatic screw machines.

Fast-Cutting 1215 Carbon Steel Rods
Grade 1215 carbon steel rods and discs contain sulfur and phosphorous for easy shaping and forming with machine tools. They can be machined to tight tolerances with a smooth and bright finish and are often used for automatic screw machining and manufactured into bushings, couplings, inserts, pins, and studs. Grade 1215 carbon steel, also called screw machine stock, is not recommended for case hardening or welding.
