Alloy steel sheets and plates are solid and flat with no surface texture. Plates have a thickness of ¼” (6mm) or more, while sheets are less than ¼” (6mm) thick. They are available in different material grades that provide distinct levels of strength and wear properties for specific applications.

Wear-Resistant 4142 Alloy Steel Sheets & Plates
Grade 4142 alloy steel sheets and plates contain chromium for improved corrosion and wear resistance properties in addition to molybdenum to resist high temperatures and cracking. These pre-hardened sheets and plates are easy to weld and are often manufactured into cams, shafts, gears, axles, sprockets, and machining parts and components under continual stress. Grade 4142 is also known as chrome-moly steel.
