Alloy steel sheets and plates are solid and flat with no surface texture. Plates have a thickness of ¼” (6mm) or more, while sheets are less than ¼” (6mm) thick. They are available in different material grades that provide distinct levels of strength and wear properties for specific applications.

High-Strength 4140 Alloy Steel Sheets & Plates
Grade 4140 alloy steel sheets and plates contain chromium for improved corrosion and wear resistance properties in addition to molybdenum to resist high temperatures and cracking. These sheets are easy to weld and are often manufactured into automotive and aerospace components, shafts, gears, axles, and other parts under continual stress. Grade 4140 is also known as chrome-moly and Chromoly steel.
