F1 is the most durable industrial felt. It is often used in applications where impact, friction, abrasion, and pressure are constant.
F3 has high vibration absorption and abrasion resistance qualities. It is often used for vibration mounts, bumpers, and oil seals and gaskets.
F5 is often preferred for seat pads, floor mats, and other solid cushioning applications.
F7 has high density and is often used for applications exposed to continual impact, pressure, or movement. F7 felt absorbs and retains oils and is often used for grease retainer washers, wipers, and wicks.
F10 Is often used where both grease and oil retention is needed. Additional uses include dust shields, seat cushions, storyboard walls, and to protect embroidery.
F11 is often used to deaden sounds and for its acoustic properties. This felt is also used as protective linings to absorb and retain grease and oil.
F13 is a low-density felt that offers good vibration absorption. It is commonly used for oil and grease retainers, fuel filters, and for anti-rattle applications.
F15 is often used for sound-deadening insulations, acoustic panels, and protective padding and cushioning. This felt is also preferred in mechanical applications where abrasion and wear resistance are not required.
F26 is often used for packing and padding. It is not used in mechanical applications but is commonly used for sound absorption, crate liners, and for sports and parts padding.
S2-20 is medium-hard fabric that’s commonly used for buffing applications.
S2-24 is used for padding and cushioning applications.
S2-32 is the hardest and most durable. It absorbs shocks and is often used for washers and gaskets.
Synthetic is a more economical choice than wool felt, but provides the same benefits.
