Globe-body disc check valves ensure media travels in the intended direction through a system and prevent backflow. These valves have a disc at the end of their stem, which is lowered or raised into or from the seat to stop and regulate flow. As the disc is lowered closer to the seat, flow rates decrease. Raising the disc away from the seat increases flow rates. Globe valves provide a tighter seal and precision control over flow regulation than other throttling valves.
