Acetal barbed insert tube fittings are suitable for air and potable water applications including commercial and residential irrigation systems. These fittings are made from acetal plastic, also called polyacetal and polyoxymethylene (POM), a general purpose thermoplastic that resists corrosive and sensitive media, plus withstands changes in temperature and humidity. These barbed fittings include ridges on the exterior surface that grip inside the tubing for a tight seal without glues or bonding agents. Hose clamps provide additional holding power. Blue acetal fittings are suitable for irrigation systems, gray fittings are used with foodstuff, potable liquids, and inert gases.
