Mechanical Blocking Plugs
Available181 products
Mechanical blocking plugs provide a seal inside or at the end of a pipe to block flow and allow for pressure testing, maintenance, or to prevent unwanted material from entering the pipeline. A manual closure mechanism squeezes two plates together to compress and expand a rubber seal that presses against the internal walls of the pipe. They are primarily used in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems.

Lockable-Handle Blocking Plugs
These blocking plugs have a lockable handle to prevent tampering and are designed for Schedule 40-sized pipe in monitor wells. They are resistant to petrochemicals and are used in oil refining applications for plugging and opening monitor wells to test the quality of groundwater.

Raised-Square Blocking Plugs
Raised-square blocking plugs are tightened by hand, or with an adjustable wrench for larger plugs. The raised square can be tapped to provide access for testing, or to add a cleanout lid to give a finished look and prevent tripping. These blocking plugs are used for testing water and air in plumbing systems.

Long-Reach Cleanout Blocking Plugs
These long-reach blocking plugs have an extended handle for inserting into the cleanout opening and plugging the flow inside the pipe without the use of tools. They are used to test the stack vent, or plumbing vent, in the system and prevent backsplash by allowing for a gradual release of the plug.

Cleanout Plugs for Damaged Threads
These mechanical blocking plugs seal damaged threads on a cleanout pipe. They have a rubber O-ring seal that compresses into the pipe beyond the threading to ensure a watertight seal. The plug is expanded and tightened with a hex key wrench.
