Packaging paper is a protective packing or wrapping material that comes in a variety of weights and strengths. Heavy paper can be crumpled up to fill void spaces in a shipment box—preventing items from shifting during transit. Lightweight packaging paper can be wrapped around small or fragile items to protect them from damage such as scratches, dents, or breakage. Some papers have a coating that serves as a moisture barrier to protect items that must not get wet.
