Damage indicators are highly visible devices that are applied to shipping containers to alert recipients when shipments have been mishandled. They let recipients know that the contents of a shipment need to be inspected for damage. They also alert the shipment's handlers that the handling of the shipment is being monitored. Shock indicators show whether a shipment has been dropped or otherwise exposed to an impact force that exceeds a predetermined level. Tilt indicators show whether a shipment has been turned on its side, turned over, or tilted at an angle that exceeds a predetermined level. Tamper indicators show whether a package has been tampered with during shipping. Environmental exposure indicators show whether a shipment has been exposed to warm or cold temperatures that could potentially harm products in the shipment.
