Pick & Cutter Mattocks
Available16 products
Pick and cutter mattocks swing like an axe to drive their dual-purpose head for digging, loosening, and chopping tasks. Their head has a different type of blade at each end, and it accepts a replacement handle if the original one breaks.
Pick Mattocks
Pick mattocks have a tapered pick at one end of their head and an adze at the other end. Their pick end concentrates force into a sharp point to break up packed earth and rocky soil. Their adze end sets its blade edge horizontally for digging trenches in soil, cutting through roots, and shaving or scraping off layers of surfaces.

Cutter Mattocks
Cutter mattocks have an axe at one end of the head and an adze at the other end. Also known as grub axes, their axe end sets its blade edge vertically for driving into wood like a wedge to chop through branches and brush, fell trees, and split logs. Their adze end sets its blade edge horizontally for digging trenches in soil, cutting through roots, and shaving or scraping off layers of surfaces.
