Propane cylinder hand trucks are shaped to hold propane tanks. They are used to deliver the tanks for applications such as heating, powering industrial vehicles, brazing, gas-cutting, heat-treating materials, or plastics manufacturing.

Ergonomic tilt-back cylinder hand trucks have two swivel casters mounted on a frame extension behind the trucks' two primary wheels. The hand trucks can rest on all four wheels when they are tilted back, which reduces the physical effort it takes to keep them upright when moving heavy cylinders. They weigh less than steel cylinder hand trucks and resist rusting when used in damp or wet environments.
