Boring bars remove material from the inside of drilled or cast holes to size, straighten, and finish the holes. They have a single cutting tip and attach to a toolholder on a lathe, CNC lathe, turning machine, or machining center. The boring bar remains stationary while the lathe rotates the workpiece against the bar's cutting tip.
