Drill chucks connect to a drill, drill press, milling machine, or lathe to hold drill bits, tapping tools, and other cutting tools used to create and tap holes. Adjustable jaws tighten around the cutting tool to grip drill bits firmly or loosen to remove bits from the chuck. Keyed drill chucks use a tool to tighten the jaws, which results in a more secure grip than keyless chucks. Keyless drill chucks are hand tightened so they don't require access to a key.
