Collet chucks mount collets onto milling machines, lathes, and other manual and CNC machine tools so that the collets can hold small-diameter tools and workpieces securely on the machine. Collet chucks have a shank that attaches to the machine spindle and a finished bore that accepts the collet. A collet chuck nut secures the collet to the collet chucks.
