Feeler gauge rolls and stock are long coils of feeler gauge stock. Also known as thickness gauge stock or feeler stock, these rolls are usually steel and uniform with regard to width and thickness. They are unrolled and cut to the size needed to measure a gap or to use as a shim. The thickness of the gauge is commonly marked on the stock at consistent increments along the length of the roll. A longer roll can be used for measuring deeper gaps that require a longer reach. Some stock can be rerolled after being used for a long-reach application. Feeler gauge stock is often used by engineers, machinists, and woodworkers and in heavy and light production applications.
